  Situated in the beautiful green countryside of the French Limousin region La Musardière dominates the valley of the river Vienne between the city of Limoges and the town of Saint-Junien. A converted barn featuring a large stone fireplace and a mezzanine, La Musardière has five guestrooms with en-suite shower rooms.

The city of Limoges, administrative capital of the Limousin region, dates back from the Gallo-Roman period and is famous for its porcelain and enamel factories. The A20 motorway puts Limoges in close contact with Paris in the north and Toulouse in the south. Nearby historical sites such as the Castle of Rochechouart, the Second World War martyred village of Oradour-sur-Glane and the historic route of Richard Coeur de Lion are well worth a visit.

   The region is most renowed for it's excellent beef and it's clafoutis dish, a creamy flan in pastry dotted with succulent red cherries. From the bordering Perigord region Foie gras and Confits are part of the traditional cuisine.

 For outdoor fun in the area you can enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking, cycling or horseback riding. You can also go swimming, sailing and wind-surfing at the region's leading water sports centre.

La Musardière now has new owners and the guest rooms have been extensively remodelled.  Monique Duhamel & Michael Oldroyd  welcome their guests from Easter to September.  From St Junien take the D32 towards St Brice and St Victurnien. La Musardière is found two kilometers after the St Brice exit sign, on the left hand side.
From Limoges take the N141 towards Angoulême. Six kilometers after the D2000 interchange, at the start of a section of dual carriageway, take a right towards La Barre. Left at the T junction and left at the Stop sign after the village, towards Saint Victurnien. La Musardière is 2 kms after Saint Victurnien in the direcion of Saint Brice/Saint Junien.		La Musardière is only 18 kilometers (11 Miles)  from Limoges-Bellegarde Airport.
